POSITION SUMMARY

Plan, prepare, and cook food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  2. Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
  3. Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
  4. Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
  5. Present food and beverages to customer.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes.
  7. Handle and store ingredients and food.
  8. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  9. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
  10. Execute opening and closing procedures.
  11. Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
  12. Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
  13. Monitor station inventory levels.
  14. Accommodate guest’s special requests.
  15. Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers.
  16. To produce soups and sources of different culinary background.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Certificate in Food Production/Culinary Arts
  2. Minimum Age 26 Years
  3. KCSE Certificate.
  4. HACCP Certificate holder will have an added advantage

 

EXPERIENCE

  1. At least 3 years’ experience in a 3-star Hotel or equivalent.
